Ayodhya – The sacred city of Ayodhya is gearing up for Deepotsav 2025, with devotees eagerly anticipating a grand celebration of faith, culture, and music. This year, the festival will showcase a vibrant confluence of Awadhi and Bhojpuri bhajans, as well as traditional folk performances, featuring over 2,000 artists from across India. Among them, nearly 300 local Ayodhya artists will actively participate, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this year’s festival emphasizes local talent, offering them greater opportunities to perform on a grand stage. According to Ashutosh Dwivedi, Advisor and Special Officer at the Ayodhya International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute, the festival will feature one grand stage, three medium stages, and seven smaller stages, designed to mesmerize visitors with captivating performances.
The grand and medium stages, set up at Ram Katha Park, Tulsi Udyan, Badi Devkali, and Guptar Ghat, will host elaborate theatrical renditions of Lord Shri Ram’s life and divine episodes. The seven smaller stages will provide a platform for local and regional artists to present traditional folk songs, dance, and dramatic performances, fostering talent and giving devotees an immersive cultural experience.

Additionally, the festival procession will feature 22 magnificent tableaux, with artists performing alongside them, vividly bringing to life episodes from the Ramayana. Devotees can expect a spiritually uplifting and culturally rich journey as these vibrant displays move through the city.
Deepotsav 2025 promises not just devotion and spirituality but also a grand showcase of Ayodhya’s cultural diversity, echoing with the rhythms of Awadhi, Bhojpuri, Braj, and Phagua traditions. The festival aims to present Ayodhya as a center of sanatan culture, leaving visitors with a memorable experience of India’s artistic and spiritual heritage.
