Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad’ Emerges as Effective Platform for Swift Resolution of Women’s Grievances in Gonda

Gonda: The Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad initiative, being conducted at the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Gonda, is proving to be an effective mechanism for addressing women’s grievances through prompt intervention and coordinated administrative action.

During the latest session held on Monday, 37 women presented their complaints and concerns before Devipatan Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal. Taking serious note of the issues raised, the Commissioner directed the concerned departments and officials to investigate the cases and ensure quality resolution within one week. She also instructed authorities to submit reports, supported by photographic evidence wherever necessary.

Emphasizing accountability, Nagpal stated that negligence in resolving complaints received through the Shakti Samvad programme would not be tolerated. She directed officials to ensure that every grievance is addressed in a transparent, time-bound, and effective manner. The Commissioner further instructed departments to communicate directly with complainants before closing any case to ensure their satisfaction with the resolution.

Child Custody Complaint Receives Immediate Attention

Among the cases presented during the programme was a complaint by Durga Pandey, a resident of Malviya Nagar, who sought assistance in regaining custody of her infant daughter and five-year-old son. Considering the sensitive nature of the matter, the Commissioner immediately directed the concerned police station to conduct a thorough inquiry, take action in accordance with legal provisions, and submit an early report.

Dowry Harassment Allegations Referred for Investigation

Another complaint was filed by Shehnaz Bano, a resident of Mishrauliya Bankatwa village in Mankapur police station area. She alleged that her husband, Mohammad Kaleem, and mother-in-law, Sajida, had subjected her to dowry-related harassment, physical abuse, and ultimately forced her out of her matrimonial home.

According to the complainant, she had faced continuous harassment after marriage and was allegedly separated from her children and expelled from the house on June 1, 2026. She also claimed she was threatened with dire consequences if she attempted to return. Treating the matter as serious, the Commissioner forwarded the complaint to the Station House Officer of Mankapur and directed that a detailed report be submitted within five days.

Dispute Resolved Through Mutual Settlement

The programme also highlighted successful grievance resolution through mediation. A complaint filed by Manupriya, a resident of Ranipurwa in Janki Nagar, regarding a drainage chamber obstructing access to her residence, was resolved amicably following intervention by police and administrative authorities.

After discussions between both parties, a mutual settlement was reached. The complainant later confirmed over the telephone that the issue had been resolved satisfactorily and that she no longer sought further action.

Ration Card Issue Successfully Addressed

Officials also reviewed grievances resolved through previous editions of the Shakti Samvad programme. One such case involved Meena, wife of Bablu Chauhan and a resident of Mishrauliya Kanungo Gram Panchayat, who had requested the inclusion of omitted family members in her ration card under the National Food Security Scheme.

Following directions from the Commissioner, the District Supply Department completed the necessary formalities and updated the ration card, thereby resolving the issue.

Commitment to Women’s Empowerment and Justice

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal reiterated that the primary objective of the Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad programme is to provide women with a dedicated platform where their concerns can be heard and resolved promptly.

She emphasized that every complaint received through the initiative is being monitored closely to ensure timely justice and relief for women. The programme, she said, reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening women’s access to support systems and ensuring responsive governance at the grassroots level.
