Mission Shakti 5.0: Mal Police Organises Multi-Dimensional Awareness Drive to Empower Women and Girls

Lucknow: Under the visionary leadership of Police Commissioner Shri Amrendra Kumar Sengar, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate continues its commitment to women’s safety and empowerment through the ongoing “Mission Shakti 5.0 – Shikshit Naari, Sashakt Samaj.” As part of this initiative, a comprehensive awareness programme was conducted on Monday in the Mal Police Station area, focusing on educating women and girls about their rights, safety measures and government welfare schemes.

To ensure effective redressal of women-related issues, Mission Shakti Kendras have been established in all 54 police stations of the district, with dedicated officers including Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and Women Sub-Inspectors appointed for timely resolution of complaints.

  • Meeting at Mal Police Station campus
  • Chaupal in Gram Basantpur
  • Awareness drives at markets, crossroads, temples and Kasba Mal

Participants were informed in detail about legal rights, self-defence techniques, safety protocols, and government schemes for women. The team raised awareness about crucial police services such as:

  • 1090 (Women Power Line)
  • 181 (Women Helpline)
  • 112 (Emergency Service)
  • 1098 (Childline)
  • 1930 (Cyber Crime Helpline)
  • Use of UP-COP Mobile App

They also explained the role of Smart City cameras, field patrolling units, and Anti-Romeo Squads in ensuring women’s safety.

Major Awareness Points:

  1. Encouraging self-defence and self-reliance
  2. Explaining “Good Touch” vs “Bad Touch”
  3. Cyber safety and complaint procedures
  4. Information on prevention of child marriage and women’s rights
  5. Distribution of pamphlets and information leaflets

Mission Shakti 5.0 is not just spreading awareness—it is helping women recognise their inner strength and establishing the foundation for a safe, respectful and equitable society. The Mal Police initiative exemplifies the campaign’s motto:
