Lucknow: In a decisive action, the Lucknow Police have arrested a notorious cannabis dealer and seized 1.3 kilograms of illegal ganja from his possession. The operation took place on October 13, 2025, under the supervision of officers from Madevganj and Sadar Police Stations.
The arrested individual has been identified as Neerav Sonkar, also known as Dhaur or Golu Sonkar, aged approximately 34 years, resident of Nirala Nagar, Sitapur Road, Lucknow. The seizure took place at around 10:20 PM, and the accused was immediately booked under the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Section 8:20).
During the operation, another suspect attempted to flee the scene but has been registered under FIR No. 197/2025. Legal proceedings are underway, and the main accused has been presented before the honorable court for further judicial action. Police investigations into the accused’s criminal history and connections across districts are ongoing.
Method of Crime:
The accused was reportedly engaged in illegal sale and distribution of cannabis in the area, posing a threat to public safety and local law and order.
