Ayodhya: In preparation for the grand Sawan Jhoolanotsav Mela, set to begin on July 27 (Sawan Shukla Tritiya), the Ayodhya administration has ramped up security arrangements for the expected influx of 15 to 20 lakh devotees. With a massive crowd anticipated to visit the Ram Temple, security at the 70-acre temple complex has been fortified like never before.
According to SP Security Balramachari Dubey, the Ram Janmabhoomi premises will now be monitored through 850 high-tech CCTV cameras equipped with face detection, motion tracking, and night vision capabilities. All cameras are integrated with a central command and control center, allowing for real-time surveillance and swift action in case of suspicious activity.
“Drone surveillance will also be deployed on peak days, and plain-clothes security personnel will be stationed around the temple to monitor the crowds discreetly,” said Dubey.
3,000 Personnel to Ensure Devotee Safety
Over 3,000 security personnel from various forces — including ATS, RAF, SSF, CRPF, PAC, and local police — will be deployed for round-the-clock security. The security setup includes three concentric rings:
- Outer ring: Covers major approach roads like Ram Path, Ramkot, and Dharm Path.
- Middle ring: Secures the outer perimeter of the temple complex.
- Inner ring: The most fortified zone, guarding the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Griha) and core areas of the temple.
Shopkeepers in the vicinity have been instructed to remain vigilant, and random checks and screening operations are already underway in the surrounding areas. In case of overflow, alternative routes and extended queuing arrangements will be activated with the Ram Temple Trust’s approval.

Seamless Devotion with Smart Security
Dubey assured devotees of a safe and smooth darshan experience, emphasizing that “technology, personnel, and crowd management” are being harmoniously used to handle every scenario.
“Devotees can come without fear. Their safety is our utmost priority,” he said.
As Ayodhya gears up for one of its most spiritually charged festivals, the robust multi-layered security apparatus reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful, secure, and spiritually fulfilling experience for millions.
