PM Modi Urges Responsible Use of AI, Invites BRICS Nations

Rio de Janeiro — During the 17th BRICS Summit’s Outreach Session on “Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs, and Artificial Intelligence,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of responsible AI governance and extended a formal invitation to BRICS nations to participate in India’s upcoming AI Impact Summit in 2026.

Calling artificial intelligence a key tool for global progress, Prime Minister Modi said, “AI must be used to enhance human potential and values. While it offers immense promise, we must also address concerns related to ethics, bias, and misuse.”

He stated that India is already applying AI across key sectors such as governance, healthcare, education, and agriculture, and is committed to the principle of “AI for All.”

Highlighting the importance of international cooperation, PM Modi proposed the development of global standards to ensure digital content transparency and prevent misuse. “Responsible AI demands shared efforts. India looks forward to hosting the AI Impact Summit and welcomes the active participation of all BRICS countries,” he said.
