Ayodhya: Administrative approval has been reached to provide compensation and rehabilitation support to families affected by the widening of the 14-Kosi Parikrama Marg in the Naka area of Ayodhya.
Speaking at a press conference at the Collectorate, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta said 11 building owners would receive a total compensation of ₹2.26 crore. The compensation package also includes affected tenants. Five traders displaced by the road-widening exercise will be provided shops constructed by the Municipal Corporation or the Ayodhya Development Authority, enabling them to restart their businesses.
The affected families will also be facilitated under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other government welfare schemes.
Gupta said he had met the affected families and subsequently held discussions with the District Magistrate and administrative officials to address their concerns. He said efforts were being made to ensure that eligible families received relief at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation is preparing temporary sheds and mobile toilets for displaced vendors. Mayor Mahant Girishpati Tripathi said discussions were underway with the district administration to obtain Nazul land for a permanent vending zone. Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar said a site inspection had been completed and work on temporary shelters would begin soon.
