Rampur: In preparation for the upcoming Shravan month, the district administration of Rampur is taking proactive steps to ensure smooth and convenient travel for Kanwar pilgrims. On Tuesday, District Magistrate Joginder Singh and Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra conducted a field inspection of major roads in the Tanda tehsil region.
As part of the visit, the officials also inspected the Government Model Degree College in Lambakheda village, constructed under the MSDP scheme. The District Magistrate instructed the executing agency and concerned departments to complete the handover process of the college within 15 days and begin the process of appointing an administrative body to commence operations.
He also directed the Block Development Officer and Village Panchayat Secretary to beautify the pond located in the college premises. Further, the District Panchayat Officer was instructed to ensure cleanliness and tree plantation in and around the campus.
During his interaction with locals, the District Magistrate was informed that no other degree college exists nearby, and once operational, this institution would significantly benefit local students seeking higher education.

Later, the DM and SP also inspected the newly established Fire Station at Chandupura Seekampur, located about 7–8 kilometers from Tanda police station. The fire station will serve as a critical emergency response unit in case of disasters or accidents during the Kanwar Yatra.
Both officials reiterated the need for communal harmony and safety during the pilgrimage period and assured the public that all necessary facilities and services would be in place to ensure a peaceful and spiritually enriching Yatra for all devotees.
