Lucknow | In a significant success under the ongoing recovery drive of lost mobile phones, the Cyber Cell team of the South Zone, under the supervision of senior police officials, successfully traced and recovered 65 mobile phones through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal from various districts and states.
The estimated value of the recovered mobile phones is approximately ₹15 lakh, and all devices were duly returned to their rightful owners.
Special Recovery Drive Under CEIR Campaign
As per the directions of Police Commissionerate Lucknow, Shri Amarendra Kumar Sengar, a special campaign is being conducted to trace and recover lost mobile phones using the CEIR portal.
On June 10, 2026, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Shri Amit Kumar Anand and guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Shri Rallapalli Vasanth Kumar, the Cyber Cell team of South Zone coordinated with cyber help desks established at all police stations of the zone.
With the help of technical tracking through the CEIR portal, multiple lost mobile phones were successfully traced. The locations of the devices were found across different districts and states. Coordination was established with local police teams, and the recovered phones were collected and verified.
Mobile Phones Returned to Owners
After due verification, all 65 recovered mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners by the police authorities. The initiative brought immense relief and happiness to the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed gratitude and appreciation towards the cyber cell and Lucknow Police.
Owners praised the swift and efficient action of the police, stating that the recovery of their lost mobile phones had restored their trust in cyber policing mechanisms.
Year 2026 Recovery Achievement
Police officials further informed that in the year 2026 alone, a total of 119 mobile phones, valued at approximately ₹27 lakh, have been successfully recovered and returned to their rightful owners under this ongoing campaign.
