Lucknow: Drumming up the BJP poll campaign, Defence Minister of India, Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh conducted the Yagya Poojan ceremony of the Lok Sabha Election Conducting Office at Halwasiya Court in Hazratganj by Brahmins.
Present as part of the BJP poll campaign were State General Secretary Sanjay Rai, Lucknow Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Ashok Bajpai, Lok Sabha Convenor Mukesh Sharma, BJP senior leader Neeraj Singh, MLA Yogesh Shukla, former minister and in-charge Mukut Bihari Verma, Legislative Council member Pawan Singh, co-convenor General Secretary Pushkar Shukla, Trilok Adhikari, Metropolitan Vice President Ashok Tiwari, Dhanshyam Das Agarwal, Vivek Singh Tomar, Saurabh Valmiki, Rakesh Singh Media In-charge Praveen Garg, Anurag Sahu, Mahila Morcha Sita Negi, Yuva Morcha Manvendra Singh, Minority Morcha Shadab Alam and a large number of officials and workers of Lucknow Metropolitan along with representatives and officials of minority community and Sikh community were present.
Speaking to NDTV, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed confidence that the BJP would score 80/80 in Uttar Pradesh, shrugging off any concern that low voting could be bad news for his party.
Rajnath Singh, who is the BJP candidate from Lucknow, also slammed what he called the opposition’s ‘politics of obfuscation’ in an interview with NDTV on the campaign trail.
“PM (Narendra Modi)’s popularity is unparalleled. He has raised India’s stature in the world. The country wants him to the Prime Minister. People trust Modi,” the Defence Minister said.
