New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s Maan Kesharwani clinched his maiden men’s singles title at the 31st Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, defeating third-seeded Nitin Sinha 6-0, 6-4 in the final at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Saturday.
The sixth-seeded Kesharwani delivered a dominant performance, wrapping up the contest in one hour and 37 minutes. He completely controlled the opening set, winning it 6-0 without dropping a game. Sinha offered stronger resistance in the second set, but Kesharwani secured a crucial service break at 3-2 before holding his serve to seal the championship.

The victory marked a significant milestone for Kesharwani, who said he had suffered first-round exits in each of his previous four appearances at the tournament.
Expressing his happiness after the win, he acknowledged Sinha’s fighting spirit despite an injury and thanked his parents for supporting him throughout his tennis journey.
Vaidehi Chaudhary Claims Third Women’s Singles Crown
Top seed Vaidehi Chaudhary captured her third Fenesta Open women’s singles title, overcoming second seed Shruti Ahlawat 6-4, 7-5 in a closely contested final lasting two hours and 15 minutes.
The 2022 and 2024 champion maintained her composure against the 20-year-old Ahlawat, who continued to challenge her despite trailing in both sets. Chaudhary expressed pride in securing her third title at the prestigious national championship.
Ribhav Saroha and Parthasarthi Munde Win Under-18 Titles
In the boys’ under-18 singles final, 16-year-old Ribhav Saroha defeated fourth seed Om Ramesh Patel 6-4, 6-3. The 10th seed said his strategy of combining patience with aggressive shot-making helped him secure the victory.

Parthasarthi Munde won the girls’ under-18 singles title, beating seventh seed Ahaan Ahaan 6-3, 6-4. The second seed described the victory as particularly memorable, as it was her first tournament after a five-month break.
Special Player Development Scholarships Announced
The concluding ceremony was attended by Rohit Rajpal, president of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association; Saket Jain, executive director and business head of Fenesta Building Systems; Indian hockey player and 2026 Asian Games gold medallist Jugraj Singh; and Prerna Bhambri, four-time Fenesta Open champion and DLTA treasurer.
Jain announced a special ₹11 lakh Player Development Scholarship initiative funded through the company’s corporate social responsibility budget. The scholarships will help winners and runners-up invest in coaching, physiotherapy, fitness and tennis equipment to support their continued development.
Jugraj Singh congratulated the champions and praised the players’ agility, footwork and shot-making, wishing all participants success in their future careers.
The Fenesta Open will continue at the DLTA Complex next week with the under-16 and under-14 competitions, providing another platform for emerging Indian tennis talent.
