Traffic Diversion Plan for Shab-e-Barat in Lucknow on February 13-14, 2025

Lucknow: The Muslim community will observe the festival of Shab-e-Barat on February 13, 2025, as per the lunar calendar. On this occasion, devotees will visit cemeteries, shrines, Karbalas, and Imambaras to light candles and offer prayers for their ancestors from 3:00 PM on February 13 until the early morning of February 14. Special programs will also be conducted throughout the night.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the festival, the city’s traffic police have implemented a diversion plan effective from 5:00 PM on February 13 until the conclusion of the event on February 14. The key traffic diversions are as follows:

  1. Vehicles coming from Sitapur/Madiyanv will not be allowed towards Pakka Pul from Daliganj Railway Crossing. Instead, they should take Chauraha No. 08 via Nirala Nagar/IT Chauraha to reach their destination.
  2. Heavy vehicles (except roadways buses) from Hardoi Road will not be permitted towards Balaganj/Chowk from Dubagga Petrol Pump. They should take the Budheshwar/IIM Sitapur Road route.
  3. UPSRTC buses and heavy vehicles from Kaisarbagh Bus Stand towards Sitapur will not be allowed via Daliganj Bridge to Shahmina, Pakka Pul. Instead, they should use the Nirala Nagar-Purnia route.
  4. UPSRTC buses from Kaisarbagh Bus Stand towards Hardoi Road will be diverted from Shahmina Tirahe via Medical College, Charak Medical Crossing, and Koneshwar Chauraha.
  5. General traffic from Kaisarbagh/Hazratganj will not be permitted towards Pakka Pul from Shahmina Tirahe but should use the Medical College, Chowk, or Daliganj Pul-IT Chauraha route.
  6. Traffic from Pakka Pul-Khadra Side Tirahe will be diverted via Naya Pul Bandha Road/Daliganj Market.
  7. Vehicles from Nimbu Park (Rumi Gate Police Chowki) will not be allowed towards Bada Imambara/Pakka Pul and should take the Medical Crossing-Chowk-Naya Pul route.
  8. Koneshwar Chauraha-bound traffic will be rerouted via Chowk/Balaganj instead of Nimbu Park Chauraha (Rumi Gate).
  9. Vehicles from Rakabganj Bridge will not be allowed towards Nadan Mahal Road (Nakhas) and should take the Medical College/Naka route.
  10. General traffic from Rana Pratap Chauraha towards Aishbagh via the new overbridge will be diverted through Charbagh, Nattha, and Mawaiya.
  11. Heavy and four-wheeler vehicles from Naka Hindola Chauraha will not be allowed towards Aishbagh Bridge and should take the Rakabganj Bridge/Nattha, Mawaiya route.
  12. Two-wheelers from Motinagar/Rajendra Nagar Chauraha will not be permitted towards Aishbagh Eidgah via Aishbagh Bridge but should take the Motinagar/Rajendra Nagar & Aishbagh Station Road, Bhusamandi route.
  13. No four-wheelers or heavy vehicles except two-wheelers will be allowed from Haiderganj Tirahe (Lal Madhav) towards Aishbagh Eidgah, Aishbagh Bridge. Instead, they should take the Bulaki Adda, Mill Area route.
  14. Heavy vehicles from Station Road/Kanpur Road will be diverted from Mawaiya Tirahe via Eveready/Mill Area towards Charbagh/Alambagh.
  15. Heavy vehicles from Alambagh Chauraha (Langda Phatak) will not be permitted towards Babu Jagjivan Ram Academy, Eveready, Mill Area but should take the Alambagh/Barabirwa route.
  16. General traffic from Shantinagar Chauraha towards Kudiaghat will be redirected via Balaganj Chauraha.

Exemptions: Ambulances, school buses, fire service vehicles, and funeral vehicles will be allowed on restricted routes in case of emergencies. Citizens requiring assistance may contact the Traffic Control Number at 9454405155.

The authorities request public cooperation in following the traffic diversions to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of Shab-e-Barat.
