Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh State Police Department awarded the prestigious ABCD (Award for Best Crime Detection) to Chittoor for its outstanding crime investigation efforts and techniques. The award ceremony was held in recognition of the police department’s exceptional commitment to solving crimes.
The Director General of Police, Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, presented the prize money and awards to four investigation teams for their exemplary performance in crime detection.
The Chittoor district police received the first prize for their successful investigation and recovery of an ATM theft case that occurred in July of this year. The Guntakal railway police were awarded the second prize of Rs 60,000 for their efforts in identifying and apprehending the accused in a theft case. The Kurnool district police secured the third prize of Rs 40,000 for solving a homicide case. Additionally, the BR Ambedkar Konaseema police were given a consolation prize of Rs 20,000 for apprehending interstate temple offenders.

In his address, the DGP commended the police teams for their dedication and expertise, highlighting their work as a model for effective crime detection. He also expressed his gratitude to the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of Krishna, Vizianagaram, and Kurnool districts for their successful Lok Adalats, which resolved a significant number of cases. The awards serve as a recognition of the hard work and commitment of the police forces in ensuring justice and public safety across the state.
