Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh has announced a statewide protest on May 2 as part of its ongoing agitation over pending demands of aided secondary school teachers.
According to teacher leaders, demonstrations will be held at all District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) offices across Uttar Pradesh. At the conclusion of the protest, memorandums highlighting key issues faced by teachers will be submitted to the Chief Minister through the DIOS.
Senior office-bearers, including State Vice President and spokesperson Dr. R. P. Mishra, General Secretary Narendra Kumar Verma, District President Anil Sharma, and District Minister Mahesh Chandra, outlined the प्रमुख demands to be raised.
Key Demands
The memorandum to the Chief Minister will include demands such as withdrawal of Sections 18 and 21 of the Selection Board Act, restoration of the old pension scheme, implementation of “equal pay for equal work” for teachers in unaided schools, and extension of old pension benefits to teachers covered under the March 22, 2016 government order. Regularisation of ad-hoc teachers is also among the major issues.

At the district level, memorandums will be submitted to the DIOS and Finance & Accounts Officer, highlighting issues such as settlement of pending dues through special camps, updating of National Pension System (NPS) accounts, timely payment of pension and dues to retired teachers under NPS, and approval of selection and promotional pay scales.
Lucknow Schedule
In Lucknow, the protest will be held at the DIOS office from 12 noon to 3 pm. Following the demonstration, the memorandum will be formally submitted to the authorities for onward transmission to the state government.
The teachers’ body stated that the protest is aimed at pressing for long-pending demands and ensuring justice for educators across the state.
