Lucknow: State Prison Minister Dara Singh Chauhan visited the Model Jail in Lucknow along with Principal Secretary Prison Anil Garg and Director General of Police Prison P.V. Ramasastri. During the inspection, the arrangements of Health ATM, telemedicine services, upgradation of printing press, handmade paper industry, sewing industry, and power loom unit were observed in the jail.
The minister directed to take concrete steps for the upgradation and quality improvement of all these industries. The increase in remuneration of prisoners was also discussed in detail. During this, while inspecting the cowshed, the arrangements made for cow service were also appreciated.
During the interaction with the prisoners, Minister Dara Singh Chauhan listened carefully to their problems. He said that the premature release has been studied in detail. After which instructions have been given to develop such a system so that the prisoners can get accurate information about the progress of their release related cases from the Jail Department. Director General of Police Prison P.V. Ramasastri resolved the policy of premature release and all the doubts related to it.
After this, Minister Chauhan inspected Nari Bandi Niketan in Lucknow. He enquired about the arrangements for the health of women prisoners and care of their children. He presented gifts to the children living with women prisoners and inspected the arrangements of the creche. During the interaction with women prisoners, he discussed their problems related to jail appeal and premature release and assured that their files will be disposed of soon.
Minister Dara Singh Chauhan directed the prison officials to make every possible effort for the interests of the prisoners and their problems should be resolved in time. Before the inspection, a two-day comprehensive review meeting chaired by Prison Minister Dara Singh Chauhan was successfully concluded. In this meeting, various aspects of the prison industry were discussed in detail, in which priority was given to the quality of goods produced in jails, marketing and issues related to the welfare of prisoners.
