Special Verification Drive Against Auto and E-Rickshaw Drivers Conducted in Lucknow’s Naka Area

Lucknow: In an effort to strengthen women’s safety and improve traffic management, Lucknow Police conducted a special checking and verification drive targeting auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw operators in the Moti Nagar area under Naka Police Station limits.

The campaign was carried out at Gauriya Math Crossing in Rajendra Nagar under the leadership of Moti Nagar Outpost In-charge Upendra Singh, along with police officials Abhishek Tripathi and Nitin Chaudhary. During the operation, a large number of public transport vehicles were inspected and verified.

Police teams conducted thorough checks of drivers’ identity cards, vehicle documents, registration papers, and other relevant records. Authorities also verified the credentials of e-rickshaw operators to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.

Taking recent incidents involving women seriously, police have intensified monitoring of public transport vehicles across the city. During the drive, several cases of traffic rule violations and suspicious activities were identified, leading to appropriate action against the offenders.

Officials emphasized that adherence to traffic regulations is mandatory for all vehicle operators and warned that strict action will continue against those found violating the law. They stated that such special drives are being conducted not only to enforce regulations but also to enhance passenger security, particularly for women.

Police authorities further said that similar verification and enforcement campaigns will continue in the future to strengthen law and order, improve public confidence in transportation services, and ensure safer roads across the city.

The initiative is expected to reinforce a sense of security among women commuters while contributing to a more organized and disciplined traffic system in the region.
