Special Combined Annual Training Camp by 64 UP Battalion NCC at Lucknow Cantonment

Lucknow: The 64 UP Battalion NCC, in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), is conducting a Special Combined Annual Training Camp (Special CATC) under the Yuva Aapda Mitra (Youth Disaster Friend) Programme at the AMC Centre, Lucknow Cantonment. The camp, which commenced on October 30, will continue till November 10, 2025.

On Monday, Lucknow Group Commander Brigadier Puneet Srivastava visited the camp for an inspection. He was accorded a Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets on his arrival. Following this, he reviewed various ongoing training activities and interacted with the cadets.

In his address, Brigadier Srivastava highlighted the importance of the Yuva Aapda Mitra initiative, emphasizing that it strengthens youth understanding, preparedness, and responsibility towards disaster management and community service. He lauded the role of NCC cadets in disaster response and said that the discipline and leadership skills gained through NCC training empower them to serve society effectively during emergencies.

Commending the joint efforts of the 64 UP Battalion NCC and SDMA, Brigadier Srivastava stated that such training camps play a vital role in personality development and instilling a spirit of national service among cadets.

Present on the occasion were Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Animesh Anand Rai, Subedar Major Ashish Chauhan, ANO and JCO officers, Girls Cadet Instructors (GCI), Permanent Instructors (PI), the SDRF team, and all participating cadets.
