Samarth portal can be a game changer under NEP – Governor

Lucknow: The Governor of the state,  Anandiben Patel inaugurated the ‘Samartha Portal’ of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur by pressing a button digitally  at the Raj Bhavan. With this, this university became the first university in the state to launch a portal with 41 modules of Samarth.

On this occasion, the Governor congratulated the entire team working for the Samarth Portal of the university and said that the work of the Vice Chancellors has become easier with the ‘Samartha Portal’. She said that under the National Education Policy-2020, it is necessary for all universities to implement this portal. Through this, all administrative and academic work will be done digitally. The progress and status of each work can be seen with a single click. She congratulated the team of Delhi University, which developed the Samarth Portal, for their remarkable work and said that it is now being implemented in the whole country. This portal is useful for every activity of the university.

In the same sequence, the Governor said that this portal is also useful for students and teachers. With the implementation of the portal, all the information will be easily available. All the old details will be available to the new Vice Chancellors conveniently. The Governor asked to connect students with the use of the portal. He said that by knowing the use of the portal, students will remain connected even after university education and will participate in the activities. She said that every university may have different requirements, universities can contact the team of Samarth Portal of Delhi University for portal update as per their requirement.

In the meeting, the Governor took information about the progress of portal use in the state universities of Uttar Pradesh from Prof. Sanjeev Singh, the coordinator of Samarth Portal connected online with Delhi University. She informed with the progress details that the admission process in all the state universities of the state is now being done through ‘Samarth’.

In the meeting, the Governor saw the details of pending legal cases through the Samarth Portal of Madan Mohan Malaviya Technological University, Gorakhpur and discussed for the early disposal of a large number of pending cases. He said that scrutiny of the cases should be done and the reasons for pending cases should be found out and then the cases should be disposed of. In the meeting, the Governor also discussed about using the buildings of universities for other training purposes after teaching, helping skill development trainees till they become capable of earning money, making the trainees useful for the industries skilled and linking them to employment. She said that cooperate in making a self-reliant India.

In the meeting, the Governor made a special mention of the Prime Minister’s appeal to plant a tree in the name of mother and said that every person must plant a tree in the name of any of his family members.

In the meeting, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Jaiprakash Saini informed that after the launch of the portal, the admin will be able to see the entire arrangements from the site. This will strengthen the administrative arrangements. On this single portal, students will be able to give their attendance, fees, semester wise subject registration, giving feedback, applying for hostel, complaints and suggestions etc. Employees will be able to upload their leave application, pay slip, students’ marks feeding, lecture attendance, complaint, promotion career update, research work details, etc. by creating a profile.

Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Executive Officer Education Dr. Pankaj L. Johnny, Samarth University team and other officials were present in the meeting.
