Rohilkhand University Organises Special Yoga Session Ahead of International Yoga Day

Bareilly: As part of the Yoga Week celebrations leading up to International Yoga Day, a special yoga session was organised on Friday at the Yoga Vatika of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. The event was conducted under the patronage and guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, university staff, students, and family members of campus employees. Participants were introduced to various yoga postures, pranayama techniques, and meditation practices, while also receiving detailed information about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.

Yoga trainer Dr. Setwan guided attendees through different asanas and explained the correct methods of performing them. He highlighted the importance of regular yoga practice in maintaining overall health and well-being.

In his message, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh described yoga as an invaluable gift of Indian culture and a unique means of achieving balance in physical, mental, and spiritual health. He said the objective of the yoga camp was to promote awareness about yoga among students, teachers, and staff members while encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

“Yoga is a priceless heritage of India that helps harmonise the body, mind, and spirit. Such initiatives inspire individuals to adopt healthier habits and make yoga an integral part of their daily routine,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged participants to learn yoga practices and incorporate them into their everyday lives. He congratulated the organisers and participants for making the Yoga Week celebrations a success and extended his best wishes for International Yoga Day.

Among those present at the session were Registrar Mahendra Kumar, Prof. A. K. Singh, Dr. Jyoti Pandey, yoga trainer Dr. Setwan, Tapan Verma, Ajay, Sudhanshu, along with a large number of teachers, employees, students, and their family members.

The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to practise yoga regularly and contribute to building a healthier and more balanced society. Organisers expressed gratitude to Prof. K. P. Singh for his leadership and support, which ensured the successful conduct of the event.
