Lucknow: The Pratham Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was observed with deep devotion and religious fervour at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Naka Hindola in Lucknow. A special religious programme was organised as part of the celebrations, with Bhai Simranjit Singh Ji from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, spiritually engaging the sangat through Gurbani.
A special Shabad Chowki was organised under the guidance of the Panj Pyare, with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji placed in a beautifully decorated Palki Sahib. Sikh devotees and various jatha groups participated in the procession, singing shabads and raising the traditional “Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal” jaikara, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere in the area.
NCC cadets of Khalsa Inter College and students of Guru Nanak Girls Inter College added to the grandeur of the Shabad Chowki as they marched in formation to the accompaniment of a band. In Vijay Nagar, Lucknow Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee president Rajendra Singh Bagga welcomed the Shabad Chowki by showering flower petals.
Khalsa Inter College principal Virendra Singh was honoured by the Sikh Sevak Jatha for the college’s support and participation in the Shabad Chowki.
The procession was attended by Manmeet Singh, Harminder Singh, Daljit Singh Bagga, Devendra Pal Singh, Kulwant Singh, Kuldeep Singh Saluja, Rajwant Singh Bagga and Kripal Singh Abbot, among others.
After the circumambulation and conclusion of the Shabad Chowki, Gurdwara Sahib head granthi Diler Singh Josh formally performed the Prakash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with due reverence and ceremonial honours.
Gurdwara president Dr Amarjot Singh and general secretary Manmeet Singh conveyed their greetings to the sangat on the Pratham Prakash Parv and urged devotees to follow the teachings and principles of Guru Maharaj in their daily lives.
The religious programme has been continuing since September 10, while the Shabad Chowki was organised by the Sikh Sevak Jatha.
During the programme, Gurdwara Sadar president Sardar Harpal Singh Jaggi was honoured for his continued efforts to prevent religious conversions in the Terai region. The newly appointed Sikh Sevak Jatha president Kuldeep Singh Saluja, general secretary Amarjit Singh Chhabra and other members of the new team were also honoured at the gurdwara.
Another special programme dedicated to the Pratham Prakash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been scheduled for September 18. Giani Sher Singh Ji and a renowned Raagi Jatha will participate and present a special evening diwan for the sangat.
The celebrations highlighted the Sikh community’s devotion to Gurbani, collective prayer, seva and the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
