RGNAU Organises Blood Donation Camp on World Blood Donor Day

Fursatganj: Marking World Blood Donor Day, the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), Fursatganj, organized a voluntary blood donation camp in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raebareli. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about voluntary blood donation and encourage a sense of social responsibility among students, faculty members, and staff.

Addressing the gathering, the university’s Medical Officer, Major (Retd.) Dr. Udit Raghuvanshi, highlighted the health benefits of blood donation and its vital role in saving lives. He emphasized that blood donation is one of the noblest forms of humanitarian service and can make a significant difference in emergency medical situations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akarshan Gupta, Senior Resident at AIIMS Raebareli, addressed common misconceptions associated with blood donation and explained its numerous benefits. He stressed that safe and regular blood donation not only helps patients in need but also contributes to building a healthier and more compassionate society. He urged citizens to come forward and participate in voluntary blood donation to help meet the country’s continuous demand for blood.

Presiding over the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhrigu Nath Singh praised the participants for their contribution to this humanitarian cause. He said that such initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to social welfare and community service. Appreciating the enthusiastic response from donors, he noted that collective efforts like these strengthen the spirit of social responsibility and nation-building.

Prof. Singh also underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration between AIIMS Raebareli and RGNAU in the areas of research, innovation, and academic development, expressing hope for stronger institutional partnerships in the future.

The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, officers, and staff of the university, who voluntarily donated blood and contributed to a life-saving cause. The event served as a meaningful reminder of the power of collective action and the importance of supporting healthcare needs through voluntary blood donation.
