Lucknow: A cunning fraudster involved in ATM card scams has been arrested by the police. The accused, identified as Ravi Bhushan Maurya alias Rahul Maurya, used a unique trick to dupe innocent people.
The gang’s modus operandi involved placing tape on ATM card slots to jam the machine. When cardholders struggled to retrieve their cards, the accused would deceive them and withdraw money fraudulently.
After receiving multiple complaints over the past few days, the police launched a rigorous search operation. Acting swiftly, a team led by SHO Thakurganj, Shrikant Rai, along with Balaganj outpost in-charge Ravindra Kumar, arrested the accused red-handed while attempting theft at an ATM.
One more suspect is currently absconding, and police efforts are underway to arrest him soon. Further investigations are in progress.
