Lucknow: The Hussainganj police team in Lucknow has arrested a non-bailable warrant (NBW) accused who had been absconding and failing to appear before the court for a prolonged period.
The arrested individual has been identified as Vimal Kumar Verma alias Guddu, son of Gauri Shankar Verma, a resident of Katra Makboolganj under Kaiserbagh police station limits in Lucknow. The arrest was made following the issuance of a non-bailable warrant by a competent court due to his repeated non-appearance in a pending case.
According to police officials, the warrant had been issued by the court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Court No. 11, Lucknow, in connection with Case No. 285/2012 (Crime No. 174/2011) registered under Sections 8/18/21 of the NDPS Act at Hussainganj police station.
Acting on the court’s directive, the local police team apprehended the accused on April 13, 2026, at around 7:00 PM from outside his residence near a vegetable cart. Authorities stated that the arrest was carried out in full compliance with the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and the Human Rights Commission.

Following the arrest, legal proceedings are being undertaken, and the accused is being produced before the court. Police officials further informed that efforts are underway to gather details regarding his criminal history from other police stations and districts.
The arrest was executed by Sub-Inspector Gaurav Singh and Constable Manish Tiwari of Hussainganj police station.
