Gonda: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Devipatan Range, Gonda, Ashok Kumar held a virtual review meeting on Tuesday to assess the progress of cases related to serious crimes and the arrest of wanted criminals carrying rewards across Gonda, Bahraich and Shravasti.
The meeting focused particularly on cases involving murder, robbery, rape and dacoity that are yet to be solved, as well as ensuring the arrest of rewarded criminals wanted in different police station areas of the range.
Superintendents of Police, Additional Superintendents of Police and Circle Officers from Gonda, Bahraich and Shravasti participated in the virtual meeting. Station House Officers of police stations where rewarded criminals are wanted also joined the review.
During the meeting, DIG Ashok Kumar conducted a detailed police-station-wise review of the wanted rewarded criminals. He sought information about their criminal histories, current activities, possible hideouts, efforts already made to apprehend them and the action plans prepared for their arrest.
The DIG directed officers to treat the arrest of rewarded criminals as a priority and formulate effective strategies for their early apprehension. He instructed the police to make maximum use of technical resources and information from multiple sources while establishing inter-district and, wherever necessary, international coordination to track and arrest wanted suspects.
DIG Ashok Kumar stressed the need for swift and effective action and directed field officers to ensure that investigations into pending serious crime cases are taken forward with a focused approach.
The DIG also reviewed efforts to trace and recover missing children. He directed officers to take all necessary measures to ensure the safe recovery of missing children and to closely monitor such cases.
At the conclusion of the virtual meeting, the participating officers and personnel assured the DIG that special campaigns would be conducted in their respective police station areas to identify and apprehend all wanted rewarded criminals. They also assured that every possible effort would be made to achieve concrete and positive results.
The meeting underlined the police leadership’s focus on strengthening action against serious crimes, improving coordination between districts and intensifying efforts to apprehend long-pending wanted criminals in the Devipatan Range.
