Gonda: National Technology Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and academic fervour at the Science Faculty of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College on Monday. The programme was organised jointly by the IQAC, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and Mera Yuva Bharat in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, under the guidance of officiating principal Professor Jitendra Singh.
The event featured discussions on various dimensions of science and technology, with experts highlighting the importance of technological innovation in shaping modern society and national development.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Professor Arvind Kumar Sharma said that technological innovation in the 21st century has transformed the world dramatically. He noted that technology is setting new benchmarks across sectors and playing a crucial role in realising the vision of a developed nation.
Biotechnology Described as a Powerful Tool for Humanity
The keynote speaker, Dr. Rekha Sharma, elaborated on various aspects of biotechnology. She described technological advancements in the medical field as one of the greatest services to humanity. Dr. Sharma said modern technology has brought a new direction to healthcare services and its significance will continue to grow in the future.
Mera Yuva Bharat coordinator Vinay Kumar Srivastava presented the framework of the programme, while associate Kunwar Ramayan Singh highlighted the role of technology in the nation’s progress. Assistant Professor of the Agriculture Faculty, Dr. Smita Singh delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
Students Impress in Biotechnology Model Competition
On the occasion of National Technology Day, students also presented biotechnology-based models, showcasing creativity and scientific thinking in a model competition organised during the event.

Anupa Yadav and Soumya secured the first position, while Ehsas Pandey and Mahima Singh stood second. Aanchal Tiwari won the third prize. Consolation prizes were awarded to Aditya Mishra, Nisha Jaiswal, and Manoj Kumar.
All winners were honoured with mementoes, certificates, and cash prizes.
Special guests at the programme included Ayodhya Prasad Mishra and Sarika Tiwari. Faculty members including Dr. Dharmendra Pratap Singh, Anand Chaturvedi, Vindhya Sahu, and Mansi Pandey also shared their thoughts and guided the students.
Nearly 200 students participated in the programme, reflecting strong enthusiasm towards science and technology.
