Mission Shakti Campaign: Lecture on Cybercrime Held at Government Women’s PG College, Rampur

Rampur: Under the Mission Shakti Special Campaign 5.0, the Government Women’s Post Graduate College, Rampur, organized an informative lecture on Cybercrime Awareness under the able guidance of the college principal. The objective of the program was to educate students on various forms of cybercrime and to promote safety measures in the digital era.

Insightful Session on Cybercrime Awareness
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Yogesh, Head of the Psychology Department, who explained in detail the growing threats of cybercrime and shared effective ways to prevent them. He emphasized the importance of using strong passwords, avoiding suspicious links and emails, and regularly updating software and antivirus programs. Dr. Yogesh also advised students to refrain from using public Wi-Fi networks and encouraged the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for secure browsing.

Highlighting the importance of online privacy, he urged students to be cautious while sharing personal information on digital platforms. He particularly stressed using secure devices during online financial transactions to avoid potential frauds.

Empowering Students with Cyber Safety Tips
The central theme of the program was “Cyber-Safe India, Empowered India.” The session aimed to empower young women with practical knowledge and preventive strategies to stay safe in the digital world. Students were given valuable tips on protecting themselves from online fraud, identity theft, and cyber harassment.

Prominent faculty members including Prof. Sabiha Parveen, Prof. Anita Devi, Dr. Sonu Puri, Dr. Vandana Rathore, Dr. Preeti Lata, Dr. Manorama, and Dr. Kasim played a key role in organizing and ensuring the success of the event.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students shared their experiences and queries about online safety. The initiative not only strengthened awareness about digital risks but also reinforced the message that informed and vigilant users are the first line of defense against cybercrime.
