Lucknow: In a bid to streamline traffic and reduce congestion in the busy areas of Lucknow, the Lucknow Police has initiated a trial route diversion system at the Papermill Tiraha in Nishatganj. This move is part of a larger effort to ensure smoother traffic management, especially during peak hours.
Details of the Traffic Diversion:
- For Vehicles Moving from Mahanagar Nishatganj to Hazratganj
Vehicles heading from Mahanagar Nishatganj towards Hazratganj will now follow a new route. Instead of going straight through the Papermill Tiraha, they will now turn left at the intersection, proceed towards MetroCity, take a U-turn, and then head towards Hazratganj. - For Vehicles Moving from R.R. Bandha Bhikampur to Mahanagar Golmarket
Vehicles traveling from R.R. Bandha Bhikampur towards Mahanagar Golmarket via Papermill Colony Road will also be redirected. These vehicles will now make a left turn at the Papermill Tiraha, proceed to Sankalp Vatika, take a U-turn, and then move towards Mahanagar.
Purpose and Expected Benefits
This trial diversion is aimed at easing the bottleneck that often occurs at the Papermill Tiraha, one of the busiest intersections in Lucknow. By rerouting traffic, the police hope to reduce congestion, ensure smoother flow of vehicles, and reduce the likelihood of traffic jams, especially during peak hours.
Authorities have emphasized that this change will be carefully monitored to assess its impact on traffic conditions. Should the trial prove successful, permanent alterations to the route may be considered.
Lucknow Police is advising commuters to remain cautious and follow the new signs and directions put in place to ensure safe and efficient travel across these diversions. Further updates regarding the trial and its success will be shared in the coming weeks.
