Lucknow: Aparajita Ghoshal produced a double-title performance at the Kiran Agrawal Memorial Lucknow District Badminton Championship, winning the women’s singles and Under-19 girls’ singles titles. Akshay Pandey and Aditya Singh also secured two doubles titles with their respective partners.
Organised by the Lucknow Badminton Association under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association at the BBD UP Badminton Academy in Gomti Nagar, the senior and Under-19 finals were played on Wednesday.

In the women’s singles final, Aparajita defeated Sneha Singh by walkover. In the Under-19 girls’ singles final, top seed Aparajita beat Arpana Singh 15-4, 15-4.
In the Under-19 boys’ singles, top seed Akshay Pandey defeated second seed Nilesh Bhatt 15-3, 16-14. Akshay then teamed up with Atul Mohan Tripathi to win the Under-19 boys’ doubles, defeating Arinjay Pratap Singh and Shashwat Kumar Shukla 10-15, 15-8, 15-10.

In the men’s singles final, top seed Bhumesh Utrani beat Nilesh Bhatt 15-6, 15-11. Aditya Singh and Shaurya Pratap Singh won the men’s doubles, defeating Harsh Mishra and Piyush Yadav 15-10, 15-10. Aditya also partnered Sneha Singh to claim the mixed doubles title, beating Bhumesh Utrani and Shweta Raj Verma 16-14, 15-10.
UP Badminton Association secretary Dr Sudharma Singh, vice-president Arun Kakkar and treasurer Ravindra Chauhan distributed the prizes.
The remaining Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 competitions will be held from October 2 to 4.
