Lucknow Airport Becomes India’s First FSSAI-Certified ‘Eat Right Campus’

LUCKNOW: Lucknow Airport, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first airport in India to be certified as an ‘Eat Right Campus’ by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This prestigious recognition underscores the airport’s steadfast commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic, and nutritious food for passengers and staff across its premises.

The certification has been awarded for a period of two years, from 24 March 2026 to 23 March 2028, in accordance with the guidelines established by FSSAI. Lucknow Airport has secured this recognition with a 3-star rating for compliance, reflecting adherence to rigorous food safety and quality standards.

The certificate was formally conferred by the Additional District Magistrate, Lucknow East, Shri Mahendra Pal Singh, marking a significant achievement for the airport in its journey towards enhancing passenger experience through improved food safety and sustainability practices.

The recognition follows a comprehensive third-party audit, which rigorously evaluated all food outlets and food service providers operating within the airport premises.

Key Parameters Evaluated for ‘Eat Right Campus’ Certification
The audit assessed the airport campus on four fundamental pillars:

Safe Food: Ensuring high standards of hygiene and sanitation during food preparation, handling, storage, and service, along with 100% compliance with FSSAI licensing and registration requirements.

Healthy Food: Promoting the availability of wholesome and nutritionally balanced food options for passengers as well as airport personnel.

Sustainable Food: Adoption of effective food waste management practices, provision of safe drinking water, and encouragement of local and seasonal food offerings across outlets.

Building Awareness: Conducting awareness initiatives and installing informative displays to educate both consumers and food handlers on safe food practices and healthy lifestyle choices.

This certification underscores Lucknow Airport’s commitment to aligning with national food safety standards and promoting a culture of health, hygiene, and sustainability within airport operations.
