Lucknow: The Lok Nirman Vibhag Diploma Engineers’ Association celebrated its 100th Foundation Day in a grand ceremony held in Lucknow, with prominent figures in the engineering and government sectors gracing the event. The chief guest for the occasion was Engineer V.K. Singh, Advisor to the Public Works Department, while Engineer Mukesh Chandra Sharma, Chief Engineer of Planning and Design, and Engineer Harikishore Tiwari, President of the Council, were the special guests. The ceremony was inaugurated with a lighting of the lamp, marking the beginning of the celebrations.
In his address, the chief guest, Engineer V.K. Singh, praised the association for reaching the significant milestone of completing 100 years with numerous achievements. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the strong trust and commitment of its members. He further remarked that diploma engineers play a crucial role in the nation’s development and urged them to actively participate in government projects with an understanding of the country’s priorities.
Engineer Singh, who had previously participated in many of the association’s events, shared his experiences and commended the discussions and interactions organized by the association, which always align with the department’s interests. The ceremony also saw the honoring of 21 retired engineers, office bearers, and members for their contributions to the association.
During the celebration, Engineer N.D. Dwivedi, the State President of the Association, highlighted the sacrifices made by the founding members to uphold the dignity of the association and its members. He stressed that over the years, the association has achieved significant milestones, including receiving the ISO Award. He assured that the association will continue to work towards the welfare of its members while maintaining its esteemed reputation.
Engineer Harikishore Tiwari, former president and chairman of the State Employees Joint Council, addressed the gathering of diploma engineers from across the state. He called for the creation of high-quality teams within the department that can inspect work before payments are made. This would help reduce unnecessary harassment and punitive actions faced by members, he said, and prevent post-payment inspections. Tiwari also expressed hope that the central government would soon decide to reinstate the old pension scheme.
The event honored 21 retired engineers, including Engineer L.N. Sachan, Engineer Amarnath, Engineer K.D. Dwivedi, Engineer Sunil Srivastava, Engineer K. Dwivedi, Engineer Shivshankar Dubey, and Engineer Amarnath, among others. The ceremony was expertly conducted by Engineer Rajarshi Tripathi.
The event was attended by several key figures, including Chief Engineer Engineer Yogen Kumar, Director Dr. Sanjay Hind, Rita Gangwar, Shashi Kiran, Engineer H.N. Mishra, President of the Diploma Engineers’ Federation, Engineer Nrupendra Srivastava, General Secretary, former President S.P. Mishra, Shivbran Singh Yadav, Secretary of the State Employees Joint Council, and many others. The ceremony was a testament to the association’s century-long contribution to the development of engineering professionals and its ongoing commitment to the welfare of its members.
