Lucknow | Dr. Jyoti Bajpai, Associate Professor in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, has been awarded a Travel Grant and Free Registration to attend the prestigious CHEST 2025 International Conference, organized by the American College of Chest Physicians in Chicago, USA.
This recognition highlights KGMU’s growing international presence in the field of respiratory medicine. Interestingly, 25 years ago, the department’s Head, Dr. Suryakant, had also received a similar travel grant to attend an international conference in Chicago—continuing the department’s legacy of academic excellence and global engagement.
KGMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand extended her congratulations to Dr. Jyoti Bajpai and Dr. Suryakant, lauding their achievements for bringing pride to the university. “Their academic excellence and contributions in respiratory medicine have strengthened KGMU’s international reputation,” she remarked.

Dr. Suryakant also congratulated Dr. Bajpai, praising her dedication, research excellence, and leadership in the field. Faculty members, residents, and staff of the Department of Respiratory Medicine joined in congratulating her on this remarkable achievement and international recognition.
At the conference, Dr. Jyoti Bajpai delivered an oral rapid-fire presentation showcasing her research work and represented KGMU on the global stage. She also served as moderator in two scientific sessions, including one focused on bronchial asthma, underscoring the university’s academic leadership and active participation in international medical research forums.
