Chandigarh: The results of the Haryana Municipal Elections have been declared, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a resounding victory. BJP has won in 9 out of the 10 municipal corporations, with a notable emphasis on women empowerment. The party fielded women candidates in 7 out of these 10 seats, all of whom emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, the Congress party faced a complete wipeout, failing to secure even a single seat. This defeat extended even to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s stronghold in Rohtak. Among the 10 municipal corporations, 7 elected women mayors, while 3 saw male candidates clinching victory.

Congress Fails to Secure Any Seats, BJP Dominates
BJP’s strategy of prioritizing women candidates paid off, leading to a sweeping victory. The Congress party, on the other hand, failed to register a win in any of the municipal corporations. Even in the Sirsa Municipal Council, which falls within the parliamentary constituency of senior Congress leader Kumari Selja, BJP secured the chairman’s post, further consolidating its dominance in the state.
