Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, in a special program organized at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, distributed over 500 Anganwadi kits. She also awarded certificates to institutions that contributed to the Anganwadi resource kit distribution. Additionally, more than 500 medical kits were distributed to Anganwadi workers to support the healthcare of children enrolled in these centers. The Governor also flagged off solar auto e-rickshaws for women of self-help groups to promote self-reliance.
During the event, the Governor distributed over 100 LED screens for smart classrooms in primary schools, aiming to enhance education through modern technology. She also provided nutritional packages to tuberculosis (TB) patients to improve their health and nutritional status.
A cultural program was presented by children, which was highly appreciated by the Governor. She encouraged the young participants by distributing fruits and gifts.
In her address, Governor Patel expressed her joy over the cultural performances and emphasized the importance of organizing such activities in Anganwadi centers to provide children with learning opportunities and encouragement. She highlighted that these young children represent the future of the nation and require proper guidance for the country’s development. She stressed that moral values and good training are crucial for national progress, and efforts are being made to equip Anganwadi centers with better facilities through public cooperation and institutional support.
She acknowledged that despite the establishment of Anganwadi centers in 1975, many still lack proper buildings and essential facilities for children. She appealed to society and organizations to contribute to the development of these centers.
Comparing the nurturing of children to a gardener tending to young plants, the Governor emphasized the responsibility of parents to instill good values in their children. She spoke about the introduction of ‘Garbha Sanskar’ in Anganwadi centers, which aims to provide a positive and pure environment for children right from the womb. She also highlighted the need for pregnant women to receive nutritious food and directed that every district ensure the availability of nutrition-rich meals for expecting mothers.
Governor Patel instructed Anganwadi workers to utilize medical kits effectively for the holistic development of children at these centers. She praised the medical kits for their role in maintaining children’s health and congratulated officials for their efforts in this direction.
Referring to the Shri Ram Lalla temple, she expressed her pride in being present during its inauguration. She also voiced concern over the shortage of Anganwadi centers in Ayodhya and informed the audience about the government’s plan to establish 70 new Anganwadi centers, urging authorities to allocate necessary funds for their construction.
Speaking about the benefits of yoga, the Governor recommended its inclusion in children’s daily routines to promote overall well-being. She stressed the importance of ensuring that all childbirths take place in hospitals and called for greater awareness among women regarding maternal healthcare. She also instructed Anganwadi workers to ensure equal facilities for all children and improve management for effective operations.
