Lucknow: Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi conducted a detailed review of the development works of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) at Tourism Bhawan Lucknow. Minister Nandi gave instructions to speed up the construction work of Ganga Expressway in view of Mahakumbh 2025 if the progress is found slow. He said that the construction work of Ganga Expressway should be completed before Mahakumbh 2025 in any case, so that lakhs of people can get the benefit of earning virtue during Mahakumbh.
Along with this, Minister Nandi directed to complete the remaining one and a half percent work of Gorakhpur Link Expressway as soon as possible and inaugurate it in the month of November or December.
Minister Nandi said that the construction work of 594 km long Ganga Expressway is being done to connect Meerut to Prayagraj and 12 districts falling in between and to reduce the duration of travel. So that during Mahakumbh 2025, lakhs of people can get its benefit in earning virtue.
Minister Nandi inquired about the progress of the construction work of Gorakhpur Link Expressway. Regarding which the officials informed that 98.5 percent of the work has been completed so far and the scheduled date of completion of work is 30 October 2024.
On which Minister Nandi directed to complete the remaining one and a half percent work as soon as possible. On which the officials said that the inauguration of 91.35 km long Gorakhpur Link Expressway constructed at a cost of Rs 7,283 crore can be done in November or December.
It was told in the review meeting that the construction work of 131 km long green field project NH 31 from Ghazipur to Manjhighat is to be done. For which the work of acquiring and purchasing 744 hectares of land has been completed against 822.05 hectares of land. Soon the further process will be adopted.
Industrial corridors are to be developed at 29 places in 28 districts along the Bundelkhand Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Ganga Expressway, for which the target is to collect 12,000 acres of land. Against which 8000 acres of land has been purchased. On which Minister Nandi directed to purchase the remaining land as soon as possible.
Officials said that 1649 hectares of land has been identified in all the 6 nodes of Uttar Pradesh Defense Corridor. Out of which 1301 hectares of land has been allotted. So far, an investment of 8000 crores has been made. Production has also started from five plants. Israeli companies are coming to invest in Kanpur node.
Minister Nandi directed that the live location of all vehicles running on the expressway and ambulances, cattle catcher cranes, which have been provided with GPS facility, should be shown in the board room located in the headquarters of UPDA. Principal Secretary Uttar Pradesh Government and CEO UPDA Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Industrial Development Anil Kumar Sagar, ACEO UPDA Hari Pratap Shahi and other officials were present in the meeting.
