Launch of E-Waste Drive; Key Steps Taken to Promote Recycling and Sustainability
Lucknow: On the occasion of World Environment Day, FICCI FLO Lucknow organized a special event at Hotel Saraca, Mall Avenue, strongly demonstrating its commitment to environmental conservation, the circular economy, and sustainable development. Held under the leadership of FLO Lucknow Chairperson Simran Sahni, the event was conducted under the ‘Circular Economy & Greentech’ vertical, with the aim of raising awareness about environmental sustainability and encouraging collective participation in building a greener future.
The event emphasized that amidst growing environmental challenges, awareness, responsible consumption, and community engagement form the foundation of sustainable solutions. FICCI FLO Lucknow consistently champions initiatives that promote waste reduction, recycling, prudent resource utilization, and environmental protection.
An ‘E-Waste Drive’ was launched during the event, encouraging members to ensure the safe and responsible disposal of electronic waste. The drive aims to raise awareness about e-waste and promote its scientific management to mitigate adverse environmental impacts. Shachi Singh, Radhika Mishra, Pooja, and Devashish shared their insights on the subject of e-waste during the program.
A detailed presentation on FLO Lucknow’s ongoing and proposed environmental initiatives was also delivered. These include significant programs focused on recycling, waste management, MLP (Multi-Layer Plastic) collection drives, and the promotion of sustainable business practices.
As a significant step in this direction, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between FICCI FLO Lucknow and the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, which will provide fresh momentum to recycling and sustainability efforts in the city. Additionally, collaborative agreements were signed with Trashury, Sparkliv, and Green Maverick—a significant initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable solutions.
FLO Lucknow also announced plans to organize sustainability workshops in various city schools, host a comprehensive recycling conclave in the near future, and launch large-scale public awareness campaigns. The organization urged its members to become active ambassadors for environmental conservation and to adopt responsible lifestyles.
The event also served as an orientation session for new members, introducing them to the vision, values, and various social and environmental initiatives of FICCI FLO.
A large number of members participated enthusiastically in the program and expressed their commitment to environmental conservation. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Vice Chairperson Devanshi Seth stated that FICCI FLO Lucknow is continuously striving to empower women not only in the fields of leadership and entrepreneurship but also as leading forces for social change and environmental conservation.
Organized to mark World Environment Day, the event concluded with the message that the active participation and responsibility of every citizen are essential for building a clean, green, and sustainable future.
