Divisional Industry Friends Meeting Reviews Schemes, Emphasis on Timely Loan Distribution: Commissioner

Gonda: A Divisional Industry Friends meeting was held  under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner, focusing on a detailed review of various self-employment and entrepreneurship promotion schemes. The meeting assessed the progress of key industrial development initiatives and issued strict directions to ensure effective implementation at the ground level.

Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal directed all banks to set branch-wise targets and ensure maximum loan distribution to eligible beneficiaries under government welfare schemes. She emphasized that every eligible applicant must receive timely financial assistance and instructed officials to adhere strictly to monthly targets for loan disbursement.

Highlighting concerns over performance gaps, the Commissioner instructed the Lead District Manager (LDM) to identify underperforming banks and issue show-cause notices where necessary. She made it clear that negligence in implementing government schemes would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Expressing concern over the slow progress in Shravasti district, the Commissioner directed officials to take immediate corrective measures and work toward achieving full saturation of targets. She also instructed all districts to expedite the submission of proposals related to pledge parks to the state government.

Reiterating the vision of the Chief Minister, the Commissioner stated that all industrial and employment-oriented schemes must effectively reach deserving beneficiaries to boost job creation and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward self-reliance. She added that self-employment schemes are a powerful tool for empowering youth and urged all departments to work in close coordination for effective implementation.

Strong Overall Performance in Loan Distribution Across the Division

According to the progress report of the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (as of March 31, 2026), the division recorded strong performance in loan distribution.

Against a total target of 6,950, the division received 18,169 applications. Out of these, 15,458 applications were forwarded to banks, and 6,431 were approved, reflecting an approval rate of 92.53%. A total of 6,476 cases were disbursed loans, achieving 93.18% of the target.

District-wise performance showed mixed results. Balrampur achieved 1,165 loan disbursements against a target of 1,400, recording 83.21% progress. Bahraich exceeded expectations by achieving 103.53%, with 1,967 loans disbursed against a target of 1,900. Gonda also performed above target, recording 2,254 disbursements against 2,250, achieving 100.18%.

However, Shravasti lagged behind, with 1,090 loans disbursed against a target of 1,400, marking 77.86% progress. Despite this, officials noted that most districts in the division have achieved or exceeded their set targets, indicating overall strong implementation of the scheme.
