CPR Workshop Held at City Montessori School

Lucknow: A significant CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) workshop was organized for junior students at City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus II. The objective of this session was to teach students the correct method of administering CPR during emergencies, particularly in the event of a heart attack or cardiac arrest.

This information was shared by the Head of Communications of CMS, Rishi Khanna.  Khanna mentioned that in recent years, cases of cardiac arrest have rapidly increased. Some incidents occurred so suddenly that the victim couldn’t even be taken to the hospital, while having the correct knowledge of CPR could have saved lives.

Khanna added that this important workshop on CPR was led by  Sumit Maurya, Senior Assistant Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, Lucknow, and Emergency Management Expert at the NDRF Academy in Nagpur. He was accompanied by  Manoj Verma, Senior Assistant Deputy Controller, Lucknow, and Joint Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association, who also played a significant role in the session.

Both experts explained the correct techniques to follow during CPR and emphasized the importance of immediate action, stating, “Anyone can become a hero if they know the art of saving a life.”

Sumit Maurya explained the crucial steps to take during cardiac arrest and demonstrated to the students how to complete five breathing cycles within two minutes, followed by 30 chest compressions. This process should be continued until medical assistance arrives. He also warned that practicing CPR on a living person could be harmful. Additionally,  Manoj Verma provided guidance on how to help a drowning person and stressed the importance of modifying CPR techniques according to the age of the victim.

The Headmistress of CMS Rajajipuram Campus II,  Khyati Lamba, expressed her gratitude to  Sumit Maurya and  Manoj Verma by presenting them with mementos as a token of appreciation. She also encouraged her students to share this valuable knowledge with their family members and acquaintances to help save more lives.
