Lucknow: A candidate appearing for the Agniveer recruitment examination was caught red-handed while using unfair means, leading to legal action. The incident took place after Military Intelligence (MI) officials grew suspicious of the examinee’s behavior and initiated questioning.
As soon as the interrogation began, the candidate became visibly nervous, raising further doubts. Upon further probing, the individual confessed to using a concealed cheating device to manipulate the test results.
Following this revelation, the authorities registered a case against the accused at the Cantt police station. Law enforcement officials have taken strict measures to ensure the integrity of the examination process, given the high stakes involved in military recruitment.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) has now taken over the investigation, aiming to uncover any larger network involved in exam fraud. Authorities suspect the involvement of organized rackets that facilitate such malpractices, and further probes are underway.
The Indian Army has reiterated its commitment to a transparent and fair recruitment process and warned against any attempts to compromise the sanctity of the selection procedure. This incident has once again highlighted the need for stringent surveillance and advanced security measures in competitive examinations.
