Amethi: In a significant step toward strengthening campus infrastructure, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University inaugurated a new 33/0.4 KVA power substation at its Amethi Satellite Centre, ensuring uninterrupted 24×7 electricity supply across the campus.
The substation was inaugurated by Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. University officials said the project marks a major milestone in the ongoing development of the satellite campus and is expected to significantly improve both academic and administrative operations.
With the commissioning of the new substation, classrooms, laboratories, offices, and other campus facilities will now benefit from a stable and continuous power supply. The university administration believes the improved electricity infrastructure will enhance operational efficiency and provide a better learning environment for students.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Raj Sharan Sahi and Dr. Sandeep Kumar Nayak, along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students. Dr. Nayak welcomed the guests and highlighted the recent progress made at the satellite centre.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mittal reaffirmed the university’s commitment to the overall development of the Amethi campus. He said several initiatives aimed at improving facilities for students, teachers, and staff have already been launched, while many more development projects are in the pipeline.
He also announced that additional infrastructure-related works would soon begin at the satellite centre to accelerate its long-term growth and strengthen its academic ecosystem.

University officials noted that the satellite centre has witnessed several major improvements over the past year. These include the renovation of more than 20 lecture halls and administrative offices, establishment of a computer centre equipped with 60 computer systems, construction of a girls’ hostel with accommodation capacity for 62 students, renovation of a 125-seat auditorium, and installation of the newly inaugurated power substation.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Raj Sharan Sahi encouraged faculty members, students, and staff to continue contributing to the institution’s growth and emphasized the importance of launching new academic programmes in the future.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation from teachers, university employees, and a large number of students, reflecting growing optimism about the rapid development of the Amethi Satellite Centre.
