Amity University Organizes International Conference on Digital Innovation in Art, Fashion, and Technology

Lucknow – To discuss the evolving trends, tools, and technologies in the fields of art and fashion, the Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) and the Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, organized an International Conference on “Future Craft: Digital Innovation in Art, Fashion, and Technology” .

The conference was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Shatarupa Thakurta Roy, Associate Professor, IIT Kanpur; Ms. Ankita Mazumdar, Visual Merchandising Manager (East-North India), Pantaloons; Valentina Churikova, Freelance Experiential Artist; Dr. Mojgan Jahanara, Former Chairperson, Textile Design Department, University of Arts, Tehran; Wg Cdr. Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus; Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Dean Academics, Amity Lucknow; and Prof. Pooja Varma, Director, ASFT & ASFA.

Welcoming the guests, Prof. Pooja Varma expressed her delight, stating, “I am very happy to share that this conference has attracted over 210 participants from across the nation, including research scholars, academicians, and students. Participants from prestigious institutions such as NIFT, SMRU University, Bangalore University, UID Karnavati University, Faizabad University, Lucknow University, and many others are attending both online and offline.”

Wg Cdr. Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor, highlighted the significance of the conference, emphasizing that it provides “a great learning opportunity to understand the latest global advancements in the field of arts.”

Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Dean Academics, noted that the conference serves as a unique platform for participants to network and engage with leading experts and academicians from around the world.
Speaking virtually from Tehran, Dr. Mojgan Jahanara remarked, “We are incorporating the latest technology into our art, but there is no replacement for creative thinking. An artist must always think freely.”

Ankita Majumdar shared her insights, stating, “Modern fashion design is now deeply integrated with digital technology, which helps in creating and developing new art forms and designs. Digital technology provides new tools and broadens the scope of artistic expression.”

Emphasizing the role of sustainability in technology, Dr. Shatarupa Thakurta Roy commented, “Technology is like language—if we have 10 languages but nothing to say, those languages become meaningless. Creativity and hard work are what truly make technology useful. Moreover, technology helps make art more accessible and affordable for all.”

Following the inaugural session, parallel paper presentation sessions and poster presentations were conducted for both online and offline participants. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shivangi Srivastava, Assistant Professor, ASFT.
