Show-cause notice issued to Executive Officer over absence and incomplete records
Bareilly: Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Purnima Singh conducted a surprise inspection of the Nagar Palika Parishad Nawabganj office and found several administrative irregularities, including the absence of key officials, incomplete records and poor sanitation within the premises.
During the inspection, Executive Officer Ram Ratan Ambesh was found absent from the office. According to officials present on site, only a computer operator and a fourth-grade employee were available at the office at the time of inspection, while the remaining staff members were missing.
The fourth-grade employee informed the ADM that the Executive Officer had gone outside. However, during the inspection, several important documents, including the municipal property register, were sought for verification and were reportedly found incomplete. Office records were also found to be disorganised and poorly maintained.
The inspection further revealed unhygienic conditions inside the municipal office premises, with dirt and garbage reportedly found at multiple locations. The ADM expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of the office and the absence of proper administrative supervision.
Following the inspection, a show-cause notice was issued to Ram Ratan Ambesh seeking an explanation within three days regarding his absence and the incomplete official records.
The ADM has also written to the Chairperson of the Municipal Council, recommending appropriate action under rules, including withholding the salary of the Executive Officer pending further inquiry.
