Lucknow: The All ASHA and ASHA Sangini Karyakarti Seva Samiti has renewed its appeal to the Uttar Pradesh government for implementation of the proposed increase in the honorarium of ASHA workers and ASHA Sanginis.
The committee submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate of Ambedkar Nagar, urging Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to act on the honorarium hike announced in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on February 16, 2026.
In its representation, the committee described ASHA workers and ASHA Sanginis as an important part of the state’s grassroots healthcare system, particularly in rural and urban areas, where they help extend basic health services to households.
The committee said that despite the Chief Minister’s announcement, the Health Department has yet to implement the increase or issue an official government order in this regard.
It further claimed that honorarium-related announcements and procedures for workers in several other departments, including Anganwadi workers, kitchen staff, Panchayat assistants and contractual employees, have progressed, while ASHA workers continue to await action.
The committee said the delay has caused disappointment and dissatisfaction among ASHA workers across the state. It urged the government to implement the announced hike without further delay, issue clear guidelines through a government order, and provide ASHA workers and ASHA Sanginis with a fixed and dignified honorarium along with health security.
