Lucknow: The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Uttar Pradesh, organised a Principals’ Workshop and Felicitation Ceremony at the S.P. Lyceum Auditorium in Rajajipuram on September 25. The event was hosted by Lucknow Public College, A-Block, Rajajipuram, and brought together senior representatives from the education sector and the scouting movement.
The programme began with the Scouts and Guides prayer, followed by the presentation of Shishu-Taru and scarves to distinguished guests. The ceremony was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. A self-introduction session for participating principals was also held.
District Chief Commissioner J.P. Mishra welcomed the guests and participants. Students added a cultural dimension to the programme with a dance performance.
The chief guest, Dr Mahendra Singh, former Uttar Pradesh minister and state president of Bharat Scouts and Guides, was welcomed with a Shishu-Taru presentation and a PPT presentation. In his address, Singh highlighted the role of the Scouts and Guides movement in developing discipline, leadership and character among students. He encouraged principals to strengthen scouting activities in their respective schools and linked the movement with holistic education and nation-building.
Dr R.P. Mishra, Patron, Uttar Pradesh Bharat Scouts and Guides, also addressed the gathering. Dr Pradeep Kumar, Joint Director, and Devendra Kumar Pandey, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), shared their views and guidance.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of principals who had made notable contributions to the Scouts and Guides movement. Principals of schools that participated in the Republic Day parade and winners of Jamboree competitions were also honoured. Band parties and students involved in cultural programmes received special recognition.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Bharti Gosai, Principal, A-Block, Rajajipuram, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, principals and participants.
The ceremony served as a platform to reaffirm the collective commitment to education, discipline, leadership, service and nation-building.
