Bareilly: A Nari Jagrookta Chaupal (Women Awareness Chaupal) programme was organised at the Block Development Office of Bithri Chainpur in Bareilly under the chairmanship of Pushpa Pandey, Member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission, Lucknow.
The programme was attended by Block Pramukh Brijesh Kumari, Block Development Officer Ashish Pal, Child Development Project Officer Vimla, UP SRLM representative Manju Rathore, Supervisor of Child Development and Nutrition Department Shweta Pathak, District Mission Coordinator Rinki Saini, Harvinder Kaur, Gender Specialist from the Hub for Empowerment of Women, and Chanchal Gangwar, Centre Administrator of One Stop Centre Bareilly, among others.
During the programme, Pushpa Pandey listened to the issues and concerns raised by women participants and ensured that their grievances were addressed. She also provided information about various government schemes and initiatives being implemented by different departments for women’s welfare and empowerment.
As part of the event, traditional God Bharai (baby shower) ceremonies were organised for two women, while Annaprashan ceremonies were conducted for two children. Women present at the Chaupal were informed about various schemes related to health, education, social security and empowerment.
A plantation drive was also conducted at Block Bithri Chainpur as part of the programme, promoting environmental awareness and community participation.
Later, a Kanya Janmotsav (girl child birth celebration) programme was organised at the Community Health Centre, Bithri Chainpur. During the event, Pushpa Pandey congratulated the parents of newborn girl children and presented them with baby care kits.
Medical officers Dr Uttara Sharma, Dr Saima and other healthcare staff were present during the programme.
The Member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission also conducted a surprise inspection of the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Bithri Chainpur to review facilities and arrangements for girl students.
The event focused on promoting women’s awareness, ensuring access to welfare schemes and encouraging initiatives for the empowerment and safety of women and girls.
