Lucknow High Court Judge Subhash Vidyarthi Calls for Lifelong Learning, Focus and Transparency
Lucknow: National PG College, Lucknow, organised the ‘Medha Samman Samaroh 2026’ on Tuesday to honour meritorious students who excelled in the June 2025 and December 2025 examination sessions. A total of 90 students securing top positions in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes were presented medals, certificates of merit and a cash award of ₹5,000 each.
The programme was inaugurated by Justice Subhash Vidyarthi of the Lucknow Bench of the High Court. College Manager and Member of Parliament Ujjwal Raman Singh and Principal Prof Devendra Kumar Singh were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Subhash Vidyarthi said he was pleased to be part of a distinctive and special felicitation ceremony. Recalling his own college days, he said students often sat at the back and applauded those receiving recognition.
He reminded students that failing to achieve success on one occasion does not mean that life has become a story of failure. The real journey of life begins after academic achievements, he said, adding that while some students would pursue their preferred careers, others might enter entirely different fields.
“Every individual may have a different path to success,” he said, urging students to continue learning regardless of how much success they achieve. He stressed the importance of concentration and transparency in every profession.
Justice Vidyarthi also acknowledged the contribution of teachers and parents in helping students reach their achievements. He said the guidance and reprimands of elders are intended to improve the lives of younger people, and teachers play a similar role in shaping students’ futures.
College Manager and MP Ujjwal Raman Singh welcomed and felicitated the chief guest. He said Justice Vidyarthi had established his identity through hard work and perseverance, and students pursuing legal education could learn much from his journey.
Singh said National PG College was recognised across the country for its discipline. Congratulating the awardees, he urged them to achieve new heights in whichever field they chose. He said students had a world of opportunities ahead and should not retreat in the face of difficulties, as overcoming challenges helps build the strength required for success.
Principal Prof Devendra Kumar Singh welcomed the chief guest and said the college had completed 52 years since its establishment. More than 7,000 students are currently enrolled at the institution, he said, adding that its alumni are bringing laurels to the college by serving in administrative services and various other fields.
90 Students Receive Medals and Certificates
Students securing the highest positions in undergraduate programmes including B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, BCA, B.Voc. and BAJMC, as well as postgraduate programmes such as M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M.Voc. and MPH, were honoured during the ceremony.
Each of the 90 meritorious students received a medal, certificate of merit and a cash award of ₹5,000.
Dr Nehashree Srivastava conducted the proceedings, while Professor Ram Krishna, Head of the Hindi Department, delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the programme to a close.
