SMS Lucknow Signs MoU with Spoken Tutorial, EduPyramids and SINE, IIT Bombay

Spoken Tutorial Skill Accelerator Lab Established on Campus

Lucknow: School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow has achieved another significant milestone in the field of technical education and skill development by signing a prestigious Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Spoken Tutorial Project, EduPyramids, and the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT Bombay. The collaboration aims to enhance the technical competencies of students and faculty members and promote industry-oriented learning and employability skills.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director, SMS Lucknow, and  Renu Singh, Manager (Training), Spoken Tutorial Project, EduPyramids and SINE, IIT Bombay.

As part of this collaboration, a Spoken Tutorial Skill Accelerator Lab has been established on the SMS Lucknow campus. The Lab was inaugurated by. Renu Singh, who highlighted the growing importance of open-source technologies in enhancing technical proficiency and employability in today’s competitive environment. She encouraged students to leverage these opportunities to acquire industry-relevant skills and strengthen their career prospects.

Under the agreement, access to more than 125 open-source software courses and learning modules will be provided through the Spoken Tutorial platform. Students, faculty, and staff members will be able to undergo structured training and certification programs, enabling them to acquire practical technical skills aligned with industry requirements. Successful participants will receive certificates from IIT Bombay, adding significant value to their professional credentials.

Addressing the gathering,  Sharad Singh, CEO and Secretary, SMS Lucknow, congratulated the entire SMS family on this landmark achievement. He emphasized that the institution remains committed to developing a skilled, innovative, and industry-ready workforce capable of meeting the evolving needs of society and the global economy. He expressed confidence that this collaboration would open new avenues for learning, innovation, and career advancement for students.

Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director, SMS Lucknow, stated that collaboration with a prestigious institution such as IIT Bombay represents a major step toward strengthening the quality of technical education and promoting innovation-driven learning. He noted that the initiative would significantly contribute to enhancing digital literacy, practical training, and technological excellence among students.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Bharat Raj Singh, Director General (Technical), SMS Lucknow, emphasized the particular significance of the Spoken Tutorial programs for students from rural and semi-urban backgrounds. He stated that such initiatives play a vital role in improving communication skills, technical competence, and self-confidence, thereby preparing students to successfully face future professional and technological challenges.

The event was attended by Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Associate Director; Dr. P. K. Singh, Dean–Student Welfare; Chief General Managers; Heads of Departments; faculty members; and a large number of students.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Associate Director, followed by the National Anthem.
