Governor Anandiben Patel Emphasises Women’s Empowerment, Health and Education at Matrushakti Conclave Ayodhya-2026

Calls for Active Participation of Women in Achieving the Vision of Developed India 2047

Lucknow/Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor, Anandiben Patel, participated as the Chief Guest at the Matrushakti Conclave Ayodhya-2026 held at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. The event featured an interactive mother-daughter dialogue focusing on education, health, women’s empowerment, child development, and cultural values.

During the programme, the Governor visited exhibitions put up by various departments and reviewed materials provided under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As part of the event, the Health Department administered HPV vaccines to 200 girls and Pulse Polio doses to 10 children.

Under the Vidyashakti initiative, the Governor distributed books to five Self-Help Groups, an ornamental fisheries kit to one Self-Help Group, smartphones to five Anganwadi workers, appointment letters to seven Anganwadi assistants, and certificates of recognition to several beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Anandiben Patel said that programmes such as the Matrushakti Conclave serve as effective platforms for bringing positive social change. She stressed that women play a pivotal role in nation-building and that their active participation is essential for achieving India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The Governor commended the district administration for its efforts in the fields of women and child welfare. She particularly appreciated the fact that all Anganwadi centres in the district have functional kitchen facilities and are providing children with regular hot and nutritious meals.

Highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare, she urged mothers to ensure that their daughters receive the HPV vaccine. She also advised women above the age of 30 to undergo regular health check-ups and cancer screening. Special emphasis was placed on maternal nutrition, complete immunisation of children, Pulse Polio campaigns, balanced diets, and access to quality education.

Governor Patel underscored the collective responsibility of families in instilling good values in children. She called upon parents to protect children from the adverse effects of excessive mobile phone and social media use and instead connect them with Indian culture, moral values, and the ideals of great national personalities.

Encouraging adolescent girls to pursue higher education and become self-reliant, she advised them to stay away from negative influences and focus on building a bright future.

The Governor also stressed the need for ensuring regular attendance of children at Anganwadi centres, organising educational competitions, conducting continuous training and competency assessments for Anganwadi workers, and maintaining regular monitoring by supervisors and Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs).

Students from various schools presented cultural performances during the event, while meritorious participants were honoured for their achievements. Programmes related to the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, the Vidyashakti initiative, and CSR-supported projects were also organised.

Speaking on the occasion, District Panchayat Chairperson Roli Singh suggested that regular mother-daughter dialogue programmes should be conducted at all Anganwadi centres to strengthen family and community engagement.

The conclave was attended by district administration officials, representatives of various departments, public representatives, Anganwadi workers, students, and a large number of women from across the district.
