Bareilly: Mahendra Kumar formally assumed charge as the new Registrar of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, on Thursday. The charge was officially handed over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh during a ceremony held at the university.
Mahendra Kumar holds a postgraduate degree in Political Science from Kanpur University and has been actively serving in university administration since 2005. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience while working in various capacities at Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Siddharth University, Kapilvastu (Siddharthnagar), Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, and Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. He is a native of Lucknow.
Welcoming the new Registrar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh said Mahendra Kumar’s vast experience in university administration would contribute significantly to strengthening the institution’s governance framework.
“His leadership will help make the Registrar’s office more efficient and transparent. I am confident that his experience will play a vital role in the academic and administrative growth of the university,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

Expressing his gratitude after assuming office, Mahendra Kumar said he was delighted to become part of the Rohilkhand University family. He emphasized that his priorities would include student welfare, safeguarding the interests of teachers, and ensuring transparent and timely administration.
“Under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, every effort will be made to take the university to new heights of excellence,” he said.
University officials, faculty members, and staff extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Registrar on the occasion.
