Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has awarded a Ph.D. degree to Ajit Verma for his research titled “An Empirical Study on Market Feasibility of Electric Vehicles in India.” The research was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sanjay Mishra, a senior academician from the Department of Business Administration.
The study offers an in-depth analysis of the current status of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, examining consumer acceptance, market challenges, and future growth prospects. Through empirical research, Verma explored the factors influencing the adoption of electric mobility and identified key areas requiring policy and infrastructure support.
One of the major findings of the research highlights the urgent need for a widespread expansion of charging infrastructure across the country to accelerate EV adoption. The study also emphasizes the importance of enhanced government subsidies and incentive schemes to encourage consumers to purchase and use electric vehicles.
In addition, the research recommends the development of a more organized and structured electric three-wheeler market, supported by effective regulatory policies. It also underscores the need to increase the number of electric buses in public transportation systems across states to promote environmentally sustainable mobility and reduce pollution levels.

According to the study, greater adoption of electric public transport can significantly contribute to the development of a greener and more sustainable transportation ecosystem in India.
The research provides valuable insights and practical recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers working in the field of electric mobility. Ajit Verma’s achievement reflects his academic dedication and highlights his contribution to the advancement of sustainable development and green transportation technologies.
