Property Dealer Murder Case Solved in Lucknow; Two Arrested Including Mastermind

Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough, the joint team of PGI Police Station and Uttar Pradesh STF, Lucknow, has successfully solved the murder case of property dealer Sandeep Singh, who was shot dead on May 27, 2026, in Lucknow. Police have arrested two accused, including the alleged mastermind of the conspiracy.

Operation Details

The action was carried out under the direction of senior police officials of Lucknow Commissionerate and under close supervision of the South Zone police leadership. A coordinated operation by PGI Police and STF Uttar Pradesh led to the arrest of the accused from different locations in Lucknow.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

  1. Dinesh Kumar Yadav, resident of Ambedkar Nagar (currently residing in Kakoa, Lucknow)
  2. Mukarrabin alias Mubeen, resident of Ashopur, Aliganj, Ambedkar Nagar

Mukarrabin was arrested from Dolauna underpass service lane, while Dinesh Kumar Yadav was apprehended through coordinated police action.

Case Background

The case relates to the murder of property dealer Sandeep Singh, who was shot dead on May 27, 2026. An FIR (Case Crime No. 291/2026 under Section 103(1) BNS) was registered at PGI Police Station, Lucknow.

Following the incident, joint police teams were formed to trace the accused and uncover the conspiracy behind the killing.

Modus Operandi and Conspiracy

During interrogation, accused Mukarrabin alias Mubeen revealed that he worked as a driver for Dinesh Kumar Yadav since 2016. Dinesh Yadav was involved in property dealings and had an ongoing land dispute with the deceased Sandeep Singh in Samda village.

Due to repeated legal complaints and disputes filed by the victim, Dinesh Yadav allegedly became frustrated and conspired to eliminate him.

According to police sources, Mukarrabin disclosed that Dinesh Yadav planned the murder and arranged a contract killing for ₹5 lakh. He allegedly coordinated with shooters, provided logistics support, and arranged a second-hand motorcycle used for reconnaissance and execution of the crime. Fake number plates were also used to avoid detection.

On the day of the incident, both accused allegedly ensured their absence from Lucknow, while the shooters executed the murder on May 27, 2026. The accused were later informed about the successful execution of the crime.

Criminal History

Police confirmed that accused Dinesh Kumar Yadav has a long criminal record, with multiple cases registered in Lucknow and Ambedkar Nagar involving charges of cheating, forgery, extortion, and criminal intimidation.

Recovery

During the operation, police recovered:

  • 4 vehicles including Fortuner, Mercedes, Renault Kiger, and Tata Safari
  • Fake number plates
  • Cash worth ₹3,300
  • Two mobile phones

Police Statement

Authorities stated that the case reflects a well-planned criminal conspiracy involving financial dispute and contract killing. The investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the shooters involved in the murder.

Police added that strict action will continue against organized crime and such cases will be dealt with firmly to ensure law and order in the state.
